Ever since I became interested in illustration, I've been mildly curious about digital art. In scientific circles, it appears that digital illustration is rapidly becoming the industry standard, and I've seen a larger, general trend toward digital art in other spheres as well. (No, AI art does NOT Count in my opinion. Art is distinctly human, something a computer will never be able to achieve, only mimic.)
Artistically, I'm not generally a lemming, although I do love to play and experiment with new media. As an educator, I'd be remiss in my duty if I didn't take opportunities to learn new skills to pass on to my students. This last month has been spent largely in the acquisition of new skills:







You may recognize some of these artworks from earlier sketches, and you may encounter some of these again with future writing projects; re-working ideas in new ways is always a great way to try out new skills and mediums on a subject you are already familiar with. And after playing a bit, I am finding I quite like what digital can do.
